The Hunt: Roblox 20 in Lumber Tycoon 2

Lumber Tycoon 2 is the 2015 stop in The Hunt: Roblox 20, the anniversary event that sends players through one game for each year of Roblox. It had two tasks: Geck’s wood bin, which millions of players finished, and a secret badge that took the community days to crack. The event ended at 10:00 AM Pacific on 28 September.

What each quest gave you

Each hub item was claimed in The Hunt hub once the matching badge was on your account, the chest on the 2015 island; players with the badge were still claiming it after the event ended. The chest is off sale in the Roblox catalog.

Geck’s bin

Geck stands outside Wood R Us beside a Snowglow Bin rebuilt for the event. Chuck any wood into it until the counter on the front is full; a few Oak trees will do. The bin pays out a Purple Bag each time and the badge the first time, and you can fill it again for more bags.

The Purple Bag

On its own the bag does nothing: opening it plays an error sound until you have talked to the Skeleton in the Lost Cave on that save slot. Opened, it lets out two to five glorbs, round spiky things you press E on to shrink them and change their colour. Each glorb follows one of 16 colour sequences, and one of those is the key to the secret badge.

Players report that since the event ended the Skeleton no longer talks and the bags no longer open. Glorbs already let out still change colour when you press E.

How the secret badge was solved

When the badge went live, a skeleton ringed with black squares appeared in the Lumber Tycoon 2 corner of the hub. Veteran players read it as a pointer to the Skeleton in the Lost Cave, one of the few on the map.

The glorbs were the puzzle. Recording all 16 colour sequences and laying them out as tiles builds a pixel-art eye, and the glorb you need is the one that forms its pupil. That echoes the Shrine of Sight’s old BIG GIFT puzzle, where the numbered cubes needed were the pupils of a picture, which is also how players knew the glorb belonged at the shrine.

The three items waiting past the shrine door are upgraded versions of the ones the Rukiryaxe quest asks for: a Lightbulb, a Bag of Sand and a Can of Worms. Players who knew the Rukiryaxe quest recognised where they went: the same plates in the Den.

The first route, before it was made easier

The first clears needed three sticks of TNT from Bob’s Shack, a long plank cut on a sawmill to climb the cliff, and a Worklight for the pitch-dark cave. The TNT opened the rock at the cave mouth, then cleared the boulders on the Taiga road. At the shrine, two small orange glorbs had to go into both holes at the same moment.

The same day the quest was eased: a truss up the cliff, the rock gone, a red light through the cave, the Scaffold back on the Taiga road, and one glorb in the right-hand hole. Early on only the player who picked up the axe got the badge; a later update gave it to everyone in the Den with permissions.
