Haunted Hatchet: buy it, use it or keep it boxed?
The Haunted Hatchet costs $16,661 at Wood R Us during Halloween. It specializes in Spook and Sinister Wood.
Buy it for a seasonal hunting run, rather than as a replacement for your everyday axe. On ordinary wood it does only 0.2 damage per swing; on either Halloween wood it does 8.2.
Getting it from Wood R Us
Go to Wood R Us in the Main Biome and look for the brown axe boxes. Move a loose box to the counter and buy it. The store’s seasonal stock is the purchase route; the Hatchet does not come from the Glorb quest or the Den plates.

Keep the box if you want a boxed collectible. Open it if you want to wield the axe. A boxed item and an unboxed axe are different things to agree on when trading; the $16,661 shop cost is not a guaranteed resale price.
What it cuts well
| Target | Damage / swing | Swing cooldown |
|---|---|---|
| Spook / Sinister | 8.2 | 0.8 seconds |
| Other woods it cuts | 0.2 | 1.2 seconds |
| Phantom Wood | Cannot cut it | |
Its reach is 8 units. Carry a Rukiryaxe or another general-purpose axe for routine chopping; keep the Haunted Hatchet for the Spook and Sinister hunt. A seasonal specialist saves chopping effort after a find, but does not make the rare trees appear.

Open this one or save it?
- You want to hunt
- Open the box and use the axe. Keep a generalist alongside it so your ordinary wood run does not become slower.
- You collect sealed items
- Keep the box sealed. You can decide later; a promise that the price will rise is not a reason to rush a trade.
- You want to chop Phantom Wood
- This is the wrong axe. That tree needs the End Times Axe.
The full axe comparison covers the alternatives. For a wood sale, use the volume calculator; it estimates the Wood Dropoff’s payment, not the Hatchet’s collector price.
