How to get the End Times Axe

Do the Rukiryaxe quest on Halloween.

For one day a year the game turns grey and foggy for its End Times event, and during it the Den gives an End Times Axe in place of a Rukiryaxe. The event runs from 6:00 AM Eastern on 31 October to 6:00 AM Eastern on 1 November. Same three items, same plates, same $7,720.

The same quest, a different axe

Rukiryaxe, any other day

4.2 damage per second on ordinary wood, a 9-unit reach. Cannot touch Phantom Wood.

End Times Axe, on Halloween

3.95 damage per second on ordinary wood, the same 9-unit reach, and 10,000,000 damage a swing on Phantom Wood.

On everyday trees the Rukiryaxe is the slightly better axe. The End Times Axe is worth the wait for one reason: it is the only axe that cuts Phantom Wood, the wood that sells for more than any other.

Doing it on the day

  1. Before the event starts, buy the Bag of Sand, the Lightbulb and the Can of Worms, plus dynamite for the Taiga boulders.
  2. Once the fog rolls in, drive to the Taiga and find the trapdoor under the red eagle.
  3. Throw the three items down, unbox them and put each on its plate: worms left, sand in the middle, the bulb on the right.
  4. Pick the axe up the moment it lands. It belongs to whoever grabs it first.

Run the quest before the event opens and you get a Rukiryaxe instead, which is still worth having. The full walk to the Den, with the shop prices, is on the Rukiryaxe page.

Boxed End Times Axes

The game never sells this axe in a box. The boxed ones in circulation, grey with “I CHEATED FOR THIS BOX” printed down the sides, exist only because they were spawned with exploits, and they are passed around in trades. The rest of the year, the only way to an End Times Axe is to trade with a player who has one.
