Oil Tycoon secrets: all six secret badges

There are 6 secrets, each with its own badge, and each adds 5% to your cash.

All 6 together are +30%, so find them on your first run, before you rebirth. The most-awarded of the six is noclipped; the least-awarded is chilly outside. This is for Oil Tycoon!, the Roblox game about pumping oil in RoTexas, not for Lumber Tycoon 2.

Where each secret is

Each badge’s in-game hint is in quotes; the steps under it are how to get it.

  1. noclipped “fall into a bottomless hole...”

    Jump down the bottomless hole. You die at the bottom, but the badge counts. Players call the place down there the backrooms.

  2. grave robber “where would a pirate be”

    Go through the big doors into the lake area and swim to the chest. Opening it gives the badge and $20K, which is a lot early on, so do this one first.

  3. weeee! “catapult + ? = weee!!!”

    At the catapult near the beanstalk, load a barrel, then stand on the barrel yourself before it fires. It throws you high into the air.

  4. stop to smell the flowers “near the other big plants in this game...”

    Near the beanstalk and the other giant plants, climb the steps to the ledge and find the narrow hidden cave. At its end is a flower: press E to smell it.

  5. out of bounds “in the grassy area, there's a hole in the wall covered by something”

    In the grassy area, walk into the only patch of bushes: they cover a gap in the wall. A dirt path behind it leads to a hidden lounge with a bench, music and a sunset view.

  6. chilly outside “where would an igloo be”

    In the snowy area, where a Warmth bar runs down and fire pits keep you going, find the igloo and walk inside.

The other badges

  • TRUE ENDING: “which to choose...”
  • ENDING 1: “blow up a certain something”
  • Jack?: “win the beanstalk race”
  • Welcome to the Desert: “welcome welcome welcome”

Jack? is the beanstalk race: start the time trial at the foot of the beanstalk and win it. The two endings come late in the game; this page leaves them unspoiled.

Getting rich faster

  • Each rebirth adds 20% to your cash. To rebirth you need to own every button in the tycoon.
  • If you cannot find the last button, buy the Button Finder, up by the fire pits in the snow, and it shows you what is left.
  • Players report that the gold nuggets in the cave pay more the more cash you already hold, so they are worth leaving until later.
  • The game’s own page lists more: it keeps producing while you are offline; liking the game and joining its group adds 10% cash; and playing with friends adds another 10%.
