The Fire Axe in Lumber Tycoon 2

The Fire Axe is no longer sold in shops. It comes from the Fiery Gift of Lumber.

Opening that gift reveals a boxed Fire Axe. If you do not already own one, you need to find another player with an axe or an unopened gift to trade. There is no permanent shop button or quest that awards it.

Shop price or trading price?

The gift’s original price was $14,000 at Wood R Us. That is a historical shop price, not an offer you can buy now and not a guaranteed player-to-player price. Sellers set their own price for the gift or the unboxed axe; agree on which item you are buying before paying.

The Fire Axe has a dark red head and handle, a dark grip and a constant flame effect. A boxed axe is in a dark red box with an axe decal. The gift and the axe are different items, so ask the seller to show which one they have.

Its reach is 9 units. On Lava Wood it delivers about 16.5 times its general damage per second. Those numbers make it a poor everyday replacement for the Rukiryaxe or Many Axe: its advantage belongs to the Volcano.

Taking one up the Volcano

The Volcano is above the Mountainside on the region map. Its hot ground damages you, so plan the drive and your load before taking a valuable axe up. If you are still learning the bends, a replaceable Silver Axe is another option: its general damage per second is 3.33. Compare the alternatives in the axe table.

For a wood run without the Volcano’s heat, the Swamp route leads to Gold and Zombie Wood. The Fire Axe has no special advantage on either. Cavecrawler Wood has its own specialist, the Cave Axe.

Can it chop every tree?

It can cut all wood types except Phantom Wood. That tree needs the End Times Axe. A flame effect does not give the Fire Axe extra damage on Frost Wood or on the blue trees in the Maze.
